Studying in 2006? Lowitja Institute Health and Wellbeing Scholarships are now open

Applications for 2026 Lowitja Institute Health and Wellbeing Scholarships are now open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and early career researchers across three streams.
These scholarships contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership of health by providing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to develop skills in their chosen area of study.
Certificate IV Health and Wellbeing Scholarships and Postgraduate Health and Wellbeing Scholarships are available to students who would like to develop their skills and knowledge in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research. Past scholars have completed courses in project management, public health, policy and analysis. These scholarships support students wanting to develop their skills and knowledge within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research workforce with entry-level study.
Higher Degree Research (HDR) Top-Up Health and Wellbeing Scholarships are available to students enrolled in a higher degree by research and have passed their confirmation of candidature. This scholarship supports emerging researchers with a research focus related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and aligns with Lowitja Institute’s Research Agenda.
Applications close on 15 October and are submitted via the Lowitja Institute SmartyGrants portal. Information for applicants including eligibility criteria, scholarship guidelines, and conditions of award are also accessible on this portal.
