Michael Graham

Director

Michael is a Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri man. Proud father of ten children and grandfather of 26 grandchildren. Having a large family has instilled a passion in improving outcomes for his people. He been an active contributor to the wellbeing of Aboriginal peoples for almost 40 years.

Michael’s career in the sector has been extensive. He has worked with VACCA (Victorian Aboriginal Childcare Agency), VALS (Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service), VAEAI (Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc), FSAYCG and VACSAL (Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd) the Victorian Department of Education in the Koorie Education Workforce, and VACCHO (Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation).

MNichael represents his community as a Director on the Board of NACCHO (National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation), VACCHO, Lowitja Institute, and Yappera Children’s Services. In addition, he has been on the Board of Directors for ACES (Aboriginal Community Elders Services), Fitzroy Stars Aboriginal Community Youth Club/Gymnasium and VACCA. He is also Co-Chair of NMASG of DFFH, Co-Chair of AHWPF and Co-Chair CTG partnership forum, and sits on the National Joint Council and Coalition of Peaks. Michael has also been a member of Fitzroy Stars Aboriginal football club and the Melbourne Blacks basketball club for many years.

Since 2016 he has been the Chief Executive Officer of the VAHS.
