Project Lead:
Walter Shaw (CEO)
Project Theme:
Empowerment
Location:
Arrernte Country, Alice Springs, NT
Project Summary:

The project will integrate an understanding of wellness of person and place, focussing on the seven dimensions within the framework identified by Town Campers as critical to their wellness – keeping Country, Shelter, Identity, Camp/Community Leadership, Knowledge, Healing and Community.

This project will support the local decision-making of Town Campers and has prioritised and self-funded a process to validate and refresh knowledge of Town Camper Wellness, and the priorities of Town Campers that will lead to improved individual and Town Camp wellness through improved priority setting, decision-making and behaviour change. A key objective of the leadership has been to prioritise Aboriginal ways of thinking and being that should underpin community controlled approaches and strategy.
