Emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researcher Award

This award aims to recognise and support an emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researcher who has made a significant contribution to their academic field. The successful awardee will receive:

• $5000 cash, and
• Full registration to the Lowitja Institute International Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Conference in Darwin, 18-20 June 2019 including travel and accommodation. 

The eligibility criteria for this award is as follows:

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander researcher
• Made a significant contribution to their academic field that is nationally recognised.

The scope includes basic science, medicine, epidemiology, public health, social health and community health. The primary focus is for the benefit of the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

• Minimum of 3 years research experience.

Past recipients include Assoc. Professor Roxanne Bainbridge (2016), Dr Simon Graham (2014) and Dr Chelsea Bond (2012).
