Catherine's role centres on the overall governance and administration management of the organisation.

Prior to joining the Lowitja Institute, Catherine was with Good Shepherd Microfinance (a not-for-profit organisation focused on financial inclusion), where she held the position of General Manager, Corporate Services. Catherine was responsible for setting up the Corporate Services functions, which included governance, finance, information management, human resources and administration.

Before joining Good Shepherd Microfinance, Catherine spent more than 26 years in the Victorian public sector. Her last position was Executive Manager Finance at the Country Fire authority (CFA) from 2002 to 2012 providing management of the finance function across the organisation, participating in the annual planning process and the preparation of bids to the Victorian State government; the latter including the submission for the outcomes of the Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission. During this period Catherine was also responsible for the financial management of the major fires bushfires across Victoria including Black Saturday.

Prior to CFA, Catherine held positions with Museum Victoria and the Victoria Auditor General’s Office.

Catherine has a strong commitment to social justice and the development of strategies that will improve the wellbeing of all Australians. She holds a Master of Business Administration, is a Fellow of Certified Practising Accountants, and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
