Building on more than 20 years of work, the Lowitja Institute is now entering an exciting new phase, extending our reach and impact through the Lowitja Institute Members Community. The network will comprise the core group of people and organisations with the drive and ethics to realise Dr O’Donoghue’s vision. We will work together to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and continue to lead research that privileges the knowledge and place of Australia’s First Nations.

The Members Community supports the recent changes in the Lowitja Institute Constitution that establish the Institute as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation, having ceased operating in 2019 as a Cooperative Research Centre (CRC).
