The Lowitja O\u2019Donoghue Foundation Nursing Scholarship program awarded scholarships in 2023 and 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program was established at the request of the late Dr Lowitja O\u2019Donoghue AC CBE DSG, who wanted to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people interested in a career in nursing are supported through opportunities which honour the legacy of her dedicated work for the health and wellbeing of her people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to her passing, Dr O\u2019Donoghue was overjoyed to hear that the program had commenced in 2023 and that a South Australian Aboriginal student had been announced as the inaugural scholarship recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joint funding from the National Indigenous Australians Agency and Department of Health and Aged Care supports the Lowitja O\u2019Donoghue Foundation scholarships to grow the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce at a national level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
