I identify as: Non-Indigenous

Area/s of expertise: Education, General practice, Health services

Expertise in relation to the COVID-19 outbreaks and/or its impacts: This is not expertise as such but more MCCC would appreciate the opportunity to strengthen relationships with key organisations and work together to gain outcomes for communities.

Our company delivers the Australian General Practice Training program in Western Victoria.   We train registrars to become competent, safe GPs.  We have registrars in training in ACCHOs and as part of our PEP program have IMG doctors working in ACCHOs.  MCCC works with communities to gain advice, input  and support to inform our strategic direction and in turn develop funded activities that may assist ACCHOs and the communities.

We know that telehealth services has had a significant impact on wellbeing and workload and in some cases, we know that some doctors have found PPE accessibility difficult. Due to COVID our normal off site supervisor visit to training facilities have not been able to take place and our connection to community has lessened.
