National, State and Territory contacts

The following is a list of national and state contacts for queries in relation to ethics proposals for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research. Universities, research institutions and hospitals also have processes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research ethics proposals.

What if my application is multi-site?

The National Approach to Single Ethical Review of Multi-centre Research, formerly the Harmonisation of Multi-centre Ethical Review (HoMER) scheme, considers applications for the review of health research that will be conducted across multiple jurisdictions in Australia.

Where else can I go?

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO), as the national peak body, represents over 150 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) across the country on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing issues. NACCHO’s state and territory affiliates also have further member contact details.

NHMRC has a portal for further information broadly on health research ethics and also lists NHMRC endorsed HREC's.
