Continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives

The Lowitja Institute National Conference on Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care: 'CQI for everyday and everybody', was held in Alice Springs on 14–15 May 2012. Dr Noel Hayman (Australian Queenslander of 2010) officially opened the event.

CQIConnect, a yarning place: In partnership with Australian Indigenous HealthInfonet, the Lowitja Institute has developed a network or 'yarning place' to generate a communication space for people working in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). The aim is to provide a dynamic space to share ideas and relevant literature, receive feedback on grant applications process, develop research collaborations, compile and find ‘grey literature’, and discuss key issues between diverse stakeholders, including health and community workers, researchers, policy makers, communicators, and others, who are all welcome to sign up for the CQIconnect yarning place.

The idea of establishing the CQI network emerged from discussions and feedback during the Lowitja Institute CQI conference.
