Maria was born in Darwin but grew up in Greece. She has a degree in Business and Economics and a Masters in Project Management from Sunderland University, UK. She has worked in the UK for several years with the City of Sunderland College. During her time there, Maria worked as an Examination Officer and Distance Learning Officer. Maria joined the CRC for Aboriginal Health in August 2008 as the Contracts Manager, where she was involved in numerous projects through the Program areas.  In 2010 she took on her current role as the NAHRU Administrative Officer for the Lowitja Institute.
