Katie joined the Lowitja Institute in June 2010 as the Executive Officer to the Patron, Chairperson, Board and Chief Executive to support the establishment of the Lowitja Institute and the ongoing implementation of its strategic objectives.

Previously, Katie worked at the University of Melbourne and was involved in setting up the Knowledge Transfer Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. In this role, she created a web-based podcasting portal and produced a number of audio and video digital research and community stories, including for the Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit and the Leaders in Indigenous Education (LIME) Network.

Prior to this, Katie provided Executive Support to Professor Doreen Rosenthal, Director of the Key Centre for Women’s Health in Society at the University’s Melbourne School of Population Health.

Katie holds a Bachelor of Dramatic Art from the Victorian College of the Arts and has worked extensively as a Sound Designer and Production & Event Manager in live performance and on festivals. Her key skills are in project management, digital storytelling, high-level administrative coordination, and taking a creative approach to turning complex information into a concrete set of outcomes.
