David Moodie is the Specialist Writer for the Lowitja Institute and the Editor of the Wangka Pulka Newsletter.  He worked at the CRC for Aboriginal Health as a writer and editor from 2006-2010, contributing to the production of research reports, annual reports, the Gwalwa-Gai newsletter, media releases and the CRC for Aboriginal Health website.

David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Adelaide and started work as a journalist in 1983 with a cadetship at Sydney media agency Horan Wall & Walker. Since then he has worked as a travel journalist for POL Publishing, as a sub-editor at the Financial Times group, the Bulletin, Australian Business, Inside Sport and The Advertiser, and as a financial journalist for The Advertiser, The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald. He has also freelanced for a wide variety of publications.

David moved to the Northern Territory with his family in 2001 and has subsequently worked as a writer, editor and media adviser for both government and non-government organisations, including being the Northern Land Council's Communications and Media Manager from 2002 to 2004. He also edited the photographic book ˜Tiwi Footy“ Yilogal, which was shortlisted for a Walkley Award in 2008.  He currently lives in New South Wales.
