Lowitja O'Donoghue

The Lowitja Institute has been named in honour of our Patron and Chair of the CRC for Aboriginal and Tropical Health, Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue, AC CBE DSG.

Dr O’Donoghue has devoted her working life to improving the health and welfare of her people. She was named Australian of the Year in 1984 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the welfare of Aboriginal people.
