Health promotion and CQI: Tools and resources

This project completed the refinement and implementation of tools to use for quality improvement of health promotion activities in primary health care across Australia. The tools were produced through previous research conducted under the auspices of the CRC for Aboriginal Health (CRCAH) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) call for expressions of interest for the then Chronic Conditions Program. The CRCAH facilitated the development of the project to address research priorities identified through the Chronic Conditions Program Industry Roundtable and the CRCAH Board. Then, the research project team obtaining three years of NHMRC funding to complete the development, testing and validation of the tools and to demonstrate their suitability for use in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health context.

The CQI tools, processes and training packages are available for use by primary health care services through One21seventy, the National Centre for Quality Improvement in Indigenous Primary Health Care.
