Director, Research and Knowledge Translation
The Lowitja Institute seeks to appoint a highly motivated and suitably qualified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander research leader into a key executive role.
This appointment comes as the Lowitja Institute undergoes significant transformation to become the pre-eminent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing research institute in Australia. This involves building on our current work as well as exciting new business developments, all firmly grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership, knowledges and science.
With Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG as Patron, and under the stewardship of Board Chair Pat Anderson AO and CEO Romlie Mokak, the Institute is growing its capability and influence.
This is a unique opportunity for the successful applicant to lead the Institute's research and knowledge translation agenda to deliver real benefit to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as contribute to global efforts in Indigenous health and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to negotiate executive arrangements, including work base and potential for secondment and/or a conjoint appointment. The position will be offered for an initial period of two years.
