Wangka Pulka Newsletter
The Lowitja Institute's newsletter is called Wangka Pulka, which means 'Big Talk' in the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara language from our Patron Lowitja O'Donoghue's traditional lands in northern South Australia. It replaces Gwalwa Gai, the newsletter published by our predecessor organisation the CRC for Aboriginal Health.
CRCAH newsletters: The CRC for Aboriginal Health produced two regular e-newsletters, Gwalwa-Gai, a bi-monthly e-newsletter, and the fortnightly CRCAH Bulletin. Permission to use the name Gwalwa-Gai (Larrakia language for calling people together) was given by Larrakia Elder Mary Lee. The May 2010 edition was the last newsletter under this name: Gwalwa-Gai, Issue no. 22, May 2010.
Email publications@lowitja.org.au if you would like to access past copies of Gwalwa-Gai or you can find them on the National Library of Australia's repository of Australian materials, Pandora.
Lowitja Institute eBulletin
The fortnightly eBulletin includes Lowitja Institute news plus items of interest to people working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander health: conferences, events, jobs, media, publications, resources and websites, scholarships and seminars. Listings from the eBulletin are collated in Speeches, In the Media, Conferences, and Scholarships and Grants.
